MC2 > Singleplayer > Walkthrough > Campaign 1 Mission 1

With the added weapons from the last mission you can start to upgrade some of your older mechs weapon systems. Despite the fact that you will be fighting against a more varied range of weapons, medium and long range weapons are still my favorite.

My Weapons

2x Bushwacker 6x LRM Rack
2x PPC
1x Streak SRM
2x Heat Sink
1x Armor

2x Urbanmech 6x LRM Rack
1x Large Pulse Laser

1x Razorback 3x LRM Rack
2x Large Pulse Laser
1x Heat Sink

The best thing to do is to get to the convoy without engaging any of the other groups of bandits on the map. The best way to do this is to hug the shoreline until you reach the south of the settlement that the convoy is hiding in. There is Large factory, as soon as you reach it charge the convoy, (make sure you go to the east of the factory - you dont want to get to close to the base). Target the two mechs first (they are fire ants), and then the trucks, but dont blow the fuel truck up till your out the way! You may want to stay a little closer to the fire ants that you might normally do, if your dont hurry then convoy will end up reaching the base.

If your lucky you can destroy the convoy without it getting anywhere near the base. If not then you should be able to destroy the convoy anyway, its just that your likely to have enemy mechs coming for you sooner than they would if the convoy hadn't alerted the base.

If the convoy didn't get close to the base, capture the resource building and move towards the base. Take out the SRM turrets and some Urbanmechs should come out. By the time you've taken care of those and a Sha Yu will come from the north. This is a medium range mech, however its a little heavier than bandit mechs. Take it out by staying at long range.

If the bandit force got close to the base then these will come out if you follow the convoy. Destroy the convoy and destroy these 3 mechs by staying at a distance. If you have to back away back away along the shore and keep away from any bandit forces which are further inshore. Its unlikely that you've had time to take out the turrets so make sure you keep your distance. Once the mechs have gone go back and collect the resources before taking out the turrets.

Once the base on the east side of the river is done with, slowly cross the land bridge and take out the light vehicles on the other side. On this side its easier to take out the turret control center, (you will need to force fire - use F). To the north of the base is another Sha Yu, wait for it to come towards you (careful it has jump jets) and keep at long range.

Once done with the base head south towards a little island which contains a resource bunker. Destroy the guard of 3 light vehicles and collect the resources.

Next head north back past the base and start attacking the SRM turrets of the base south of the base on top of the hill. An enemy Anubis should start attacking. This is a long range mech however is relatively weak so move to medium range and you should have no trouble taking him out with all those energy weapons. Move around the hill to the east and on the north side of the hill is another Anubus. Once he's gone move into the base itself (cut a hole in east wall), take out the defending light vehicle and capture the weapons plant.

Move down the hill to the west take out the Anubis (they really do go down very quickly at medium range), and move to take out the helicopters that come from the north-east. These are fairly weak and have autocanons, so stay at long range and you will be fine. Go back to take out the rest of the turrets in the base, but watch for the LRM launchers to the south west, If they attack run and deal with them first.

Once the turrets are gone you can go and finish of the last outpost. Enter it from the north west through the gap, there is a Sha Yu, which should be easy to deal with, a few light vehicles and an Anubis which you can just attack at medium range. They are patrolling so it should be relatively easy to attack them separately. Attacking them together would be much harder. If possible attack the Sha Yu First.

Once done capture the resource building and you should have enough for 4 salvages. I suggest the 3 Sha Yu's and an Anubis. Move 'em all to the extraction marker and yer done! :)
